Happy New Year.
2010 turned out to be a good year for SORAsound. As always, of course SORA has been the main focus of our lives. Business wise, SORAsound started working with a few new manufacturers, and parted ways with some others. For example, while we have expanded our analog offerings, in the digital arena, we primarily offer EMM Labs and 47 Labs now.
Also, some may notice that we have cleaned up SORAsound website. As always we appreciate and listen to your advice.
May 2011 be a happy and healthy year for you and your loved ones.

My gorgeous little boy is 8 years old today. One may say he does not qualify as “little boy” anymore.
I’m out of country again and missing his birthday. Most days, and in particular since his birth, when I remember and have my head on the shoulder (as the French would say), I count my blessings. On the top of the list, I feel blessed for having a happy, healthy kid we are so proud of. No different from any other parents, of course.
Being a father is the best thing that has happened in my life (yes, much better than music and toys including audio goodies). When you are a father, you’re willing to give your life for your children. In the meantime, your own life becomes more valuable to you, because it has been enriched, and because you know a little soul depends on it.
Anyways, off the soapbox. Happy birthday my lovely boy.

What a great way to start our 4th of July week-end celebration. SORAsound is now representing Ortofon.
On display, we will be having an Ortofon MC A90 and MM Black. The Ortofon MC A90 will be used on DaVinci Audio inUnison turntable and a Graham tonearm.
Roughly a year ago, my manufacturer/ distributor friend, Robin Wyatt whom I respect tremendously and whose line I represent told me about Ortofon A90 and suggested I pick the line. It took a while but I am glad I chose to do so. After talks with Ortofon, and satisfied customers, I realized this is a line that SORAsound needs to add to its already extensive and high quality line of products.
Please contact me for your Ortofon related needs. I am still learning about the product line but am so impressed that I am considering letting my customers try it and compare with some cartridges at significantly higher prices. Go with a name that has proven itself.

This year we have been lucky enough to have placed some speakers in great homes. So, we can arrange for you to listen to Musical Affairs in multiple locations in North America. For enquiries please contact SORAsound.
Those who follow my blog and SORAsound NEWS, know that I have set up my own Musical Affairs Grand Crescendos with all DaVinci Audio Labs electronics, turntable and grand reference cartridge as well as Nordost cables. The digital line is EMM Labs and 47 Lab.

It was a pleasure to attend the Munich Hi-End show. It was in particular important for me to see some friends, customers, manufacturers and other people from the industry. Spent a good amount of time with Roger Adamek of RCM Audio, walking around, and taking pictures. Roger is a very technical person. He approaches photography as an art and a science, same as his approach to building his high quality Bonasus amplifier and Sensor phono stage.
My dear friends Peter, and Jolanda of DaVinci Audio were as always enthusiastic and welcoming.. Everyone knows how stunningly good these high quality products are. I saw DaVinci Audio inUnison turntable in another room as well. Great sound. Can not wait for my blue inUnison.
AMAZON Audio room had on display Hartmut Janssen’s latest creations: First Choice turntable, and AMAZON Audio Speakers. Both great products that will soon be present at SORAsound showrooms.
Hans Henrik Moerch presented his tonearms and (finally) his latest reference creation. Moerch reference tone-arm just was selected as Absolute Sound’s 2010 Golden Ear Award.
Munich is a good city (pictures to be posted soon by my web lady), nice walks, great culture and friendly people. Many speak good English. As a city, it is a lot more interesting for me than Vegas. So, I was a lot more eager to go to the Munich Hi-End show than The CES.
In all honesty, the Munich Meridien Hotel was the least impressive Meridien Hotel I have ever stayed at, even though they had kindly upgraded me to an Executive room, and the service was about as good as all other Meridien Hotels I know of in other countries and America. The location is also pretty boring. So if you are heading to the Munich show next year, I neither recommend the hotel (unless you get a much better rate than I did) nor the area.
Had a very good meal at Tantris, known to be the best restaurant in Munich, and one of the best restaurants in Germany.
There were two events: hifideluxe at the Meridien Hotel, and Munich High-End show at the MOC, Munich. I am a pretty quick decision maker. I go to a Read more…
