April 23, 2010. SORAsound now sells ZYX 4D for $1,795 to $2,295.

Note (Feb. 9, 2010): As of this date, ZYX 4D Gold retails $5,100 in North America, in Japan $3,850, in 3 European countries $4,470, $2,345, and $1,990 excluding taxes and VAT.

It would be interesting for someone to explain why they had such absurd premiums for silver and gold coils for the last 10 or 11 months. ZYX 4D is a cartridge that was originally labeled as ZYX ATMOS in the north american market. For a long time we thought ZYX 4D and ZYX ATMOS are the same. Now we do not know the truth. We have encouraged ZYX CO and its global agent, Sibatech to come forward and make some clarifications posted in ZYX Atmos and ZYX 4d….Never Ending Saga. This is the least they can do for their customers but we have not heard back from them.
ZYX ATMOS does not really exist aside from the remaining SORAsound inventory. For further info on ZYX 4D, ZYX atmos, any possible differences, please check out ZYX 4D postings.
As of 2009, ZYX 4D X (copper) retails $4,580, 4D S (silver) $4,850, and 4D G (gold) $5,100 in north america. Retail prices in japan are 346,500 yen (about $3,850). SORAsound offer for ZYX ATMOS is $2,495.00.
Also based on 2009 ZYX retail prices, it is important to note that ZYX 4D copper in japan is about $650 lower than ZYX omega copper, silver, or gold in japan. This difference in north america and a few other countries is about $4,450 as calculated in the ZYX omega section of this product list.

Finally, As our postings indicate there have been claims that ZYX 4D cartridges produced after our last purchase order have been “improved.” Given our experience with the product line and involved companies these so-called “improvement” may have helped or hindered the sound. I do not know because as of this posting I have not listened to a cartridge labeled 4D. A ZYX distributor I respect has listened to multiple ZYX 4D cartridges after installing for customers (not in his own system). He told me he has not heard a difference. My only suggestion is please read the material on this website well, call for questions, and please make your decision to purchase ZYX ATMOS independent of ZYX 4D. Fair?
