ZYX Omega: At this point, the lowest I am willing to sell a ZYX Omega is $1,495 for the Gold coil version. This is a very special price offered to a customer who has had a long standing relationship with SORAsound. Certain requirements apply to a sale at this price. There are others who pay  less than I have and want to charge you more. So, if you decide to get a ZYX Omega, please consider buying from SORAsound.

For most people, I would like to charge as much as $2,495 for this cartridge, at least for the time being unless there is no demand. It all depends on your past purchases with SORAsound. Let us assume you buy at $2,495. It is still well below half of North American retail prices which are now $6,500 (used to be $8,300 until late Feb. 2010).

ZYX Omega Copper: I have not heard ZYX Omega at all. But based on my experience with ZYX, the copper version should sound better. So, your price for this model will be $1,695 to $2,695. As low as $1,695 to an existing customer who has had a long trusting relationship with SORAsound, maybe less if this great individual catches me on a good day. As high as $2,695 to new customers, still well below half of the North American retail prices. Again, bear in mind that while I still make a profit at my prices (as I should), I have paid more for these units than some others pricing it much higher.

It seems that ZYX Omega should be at the same level as ZYX FUJI mainly because many people may enjoy its dynamics but some would possibly prefer ZYX Fuji because of its neutrality, more realistic nature that audiophiles would appreciate.

Now, why does SORAsound have a stock of ZYX Omega? In all honesty, given Hisayoshi Nakatsuka san’s experience and past performance as a cartridge maker, I expected ZYX Omega to be very good and I was hoping to make a good profit. Unfortunately, people I trust most among audiophiles, did not like the cartridge and advised me against selling them. So, I have to be up-front with you regarding ZYX Omega. Again, please keep in mind that there are good reviews of this cartridge, and I am certain there are people who love this kind of sound. To those, SORAsound is your best source.
